European Union Film Festival

The Gene Siskel Film Center hosts the 18th annual European Union Film Festival, running through April 2 and featuring over 60 films from the EU. Tweedy/Juan Wauters @ The Vic

Tweedy, the father son duo of Jeff and Spencer Tweedy, make their way to the Vic, 3145 N. Sheffield Ave., for two back-to-back shows. On this first night they will be joined by the garage folk of Juan Wauters. Doors open at 7pm for this 18+ show. Tickets are $44.

Saving Mes Aynak @ Block Museum of Art

Tonight at 7pm, The Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art will be hosting an event for the screening of the documentary Saving Mes Anynak. The film focuses on an Afghan archaeologist who is trying to save a 5,000 year old archaeological site from a Chinese mining company. General admission is free and the director, Brent Huffman, will be in attendance. The museum is located at 40 Arts Circle Dr., Evanston.

Sex Worker Art Show

SWOP Chicago presents the Sex Worker Art Show tonight from 7 to 11pm at the Church of Templehead, 1900 S. Allport St., in honor of International Sex Workers Rights Day. The exhibition will feature portraits of sex workers in a variety of media, created by current and former sex workers. Light refreshments will be served. Free, but donations welcome. 21+

Zelda at the Oasis Reading @ Pride Rehearsal Space

Genesis Theatricals will begin a staged reading series tonight with the Chicago premiere of Zelda at the Oasis by P.H. Lin at the Pride Rehearsal Space, 1411 W. Wilson. The play takes place in one night at the Oasis Bar and explores the life of Zelda Fitzgerald, an accomplished woman who lived in the shadow of her husband, author F. Scott Fitzgerald. Elayne LaTraunik directs a cast of Amy Gray and Guy Wicke. Seating is very limited. Admission is free but a $5 donation is suggested.

TOPS/Landmarks @ Subterranean

Montreal four piece TOPS returns to Chicago to share their pristine pop music at Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave. They will be joined by the local band Landmarks, with their ambient indie rock. This is a 17+ show, Doors open at 8:30. Tickets are $8.

The Congregation @ Martyrs'

The Congregation plays Martyrs', 3855 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight, with Antony and the Tramps opening. Tickets are $10. Doors are at 9pm. 21+

The Dodos/Springtime Carnivore @ Lincoln Hall

The Dodos will be returning to Chicago in support of their new album Individ. The band will bring their melancholic but always incredibly animated songs to Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave. Opening that night will be the heavenly psychedelic pop of Springtime Carnivore. This 18+ show starts at 10pm. Tickets are $15.
