Cooking Class is in Session with Lunice Tonight at Lincoln Hall
Lunice Fermin Pierre II is on a #rare and #legendary breakout steak. In 2011 the breakdancer / producer first came to internet fame in a number of Youtube pop-lock videos has gone on to remix Deerhunter with Diplo, collaborated with Hudson Mohawke on a top secret project, and was a featured dancer in Azealia Banks "212" video. Tonight as part of Tomorrow Never Knows Festival, the self described Turbo Crunk artist will melt the dance floor with futuristic high tech bass lasers at Lincoln Hall.
Lunice's FADER Mix by The FADER
Lunice's brand of Turbo Crunk is a multi-costal sound combing the brightly colored day-glow Kid Robot pop of swag with Bay Area glitch hop, crystalline IDM flourashes, and aquatic dubstep maneuvers into a hip hop framework. The last time Lunice was in Chicago he turned the Mad Decent block party into a tidal wave of high-energy dancers. Lace up your dancing shoes and get ready.
Lunice plays with Theophilus London at Lincoln Hall on Friday as part of Tomorrow Never Knows 2012. Chrome Sparks, Retrospect, and DJ Misa open. The show's $15, 18+ and starts at 8pm. Lincoln Hall is located at 2424 N. Lincoln Ave just north of Fullerton.
