One Night Only: Stars Align with Gina Bloom (The Congregation) & Paul Gulyas (The Shams Band)

Gina Bloom (The Congregation) and Paul Gulyas (The Shams Band) are coming together for one night only for Stars Align, our unique concert series featuring local artists in collaboration.
Both The Congregation and The Shams Band are rooted solidly in the Blues and classic rock-and-roll. Backed by a band complete with horns, keys, and guitars, Bloom's powerful vocals evoke the soul of rock's origins while still feeling fresh. Gulyas and The Shams Band veer into the folk side of the spectrum, with banjos, harmonies, and whiskey fueling songs that can tell a story or pay tribute to Chicago.
Anything can happen when Bloom and Gulyas leave the big band and banjo behind (or will they?) to strip down to the bare essentials at Stars Align. Seeing what happens when artists from these unique perspectives come together is part of the magic that makes Stars Align so unique. And you only get one chance to see it all happen live -- don't miss it.
As added incentive, our sponsor Begyle Brewing is doing a tap takeover as part of Chicago Craft Beer Week, and the show is always free. So be sure to join us Thursday, May 21 at 7:30pm at the GMan Tavern, 3740 N. Clark St., to see the next time the Stars Align. RSVP on Facebook.
At last month's Stars Align, Cameron McGill (Cameron McGill & What Army) and Angela Mullenhour (coins) showcased the energy and emotion of their songwriting, debuting new material and closing their set with a cover of The Kinks' "Strangers."
