Join us for Stars Align with Gabe Liebowitz and Jennifer Hall

Our concert series Stars Align is moving to The Whistler in Logan Square and we're kicking it off with a collaboration between Gabe Liebowitz (Dastardly) and Jennifer Hall that you don't want to miss.

Both artists reintroduced themselves recently after taking time off to take their music in new directions.

Liebowitz and Dastardly recently debuted their new album The Hollow after a three-year hiatus.

"We kind of found ourselves in a rut, we were playing so much and we were touring so much that we didn't have the time to really put effort into evolving our sound," Liebowitz told us.

The Hollow is so theatrical it feels like a rock opera at times, weaving together intricate layers of sound to create moody set pieces behind Liebowitz's evocative vocals.

Jennifer Hall told DNAinfo she was considering leaving music before discovering her musical center and recording her new self-titled EP, which she calls a "reintroduction to a more authentic version of me."

And this latest version is nothing short of impressive. Hall is a truly great singer, blending rock and soul in a way that's polished to perfection without losing its emotional edge.

Hall and Liebowitz are both talented singers and songwriters in their own right, but anything can happen when they get together and strip these new musical identities down to the bare essentials. And you only get one chance to see it all happen live -- don't miss it.

We couldn't be more excited to bring Stars Align to its new home, and thanks to our sponsors at Begyle Brewing, the show is still free. So join us the next time the Stars Align, Sunday, August 9 at 9pm at The Whistler, 2421 N Milwaukee Ave. Let us know you're coming (and tell your friends!) on Facebook.
