"I Will Fight, I Will Fight, I Will Fight"

...as is his right, I guess. "I am absolutely certain that I will be absolutely vindicated."

Follow it at The Capitol Fax.

UPDATE 1:

"I'm not going to do what my accusers and political enemies have been doing and that's talk about this case in 30-second soundbites on 'Meet the Press' or on the TV news. Now, I'm dying to answer these charges. I am dying to show you how innocent I am. And I want to assure everyone who's here and everyone who's listening that I intend to answer every allegation that comes my way. However, I intend to answer them in the appropriate forum in a court of law. And when I do, I am absolutely certain that I will be vindicated."

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh!!!!

I'm sure his statement must have sounded really tough and ballsy ("Just like an innocent person would!")--- to all those folks that haven't been living under his psychotically corrupt rule for the past 6 years. But those who have friends who work for the State of Illinois and/or have had to put up with the gridlock and lack of direction caused by his petulant and autistic brand of governance are just really pissed off.

Meanwhile, the business of the state will continue at a dead halt as we go through the retarded endgame in this pathetic saga.

I swear I'm going to start carrying around a shoe just so I can chuck it at that little prick if I see him jogging around my neighborhood.

I know this isn't exactly well-reasoned political discourse, but I really needed to vent. Thank You.

This is what happens when you have a big media market and no celebrity culture, like NYC or LA. Our politicians become our local celebrities, and so our government starts to look like a soap opera. The man is innocent until proven otherwise, but what is with the bombast? "I will fight"? He talks about his "political enemies"? What is he, a super hero?

Take it easy.

Parents Still Steaming, but About More Than Just Boilers

By Phil Huckelberry / 2 Comments

It's now been 11 days since the carbon monoxide leak which sent over 80 Prussing Elementary School students and staff to the hospital. While officials from Chicago Public Schools have partially answered some questions, and CPS CEO Forrest Claypool has informed that he will be visiting the school to field more questions on Nov. 16, many parents remain irate at the CPS response to date. More...

Substance, Not Style, the Source of Rahm's Woes

By Ramsin Canon / 2 Comments

It's not surprising that some of Mayor Emanuel's sympathizers and supporters are confusing people's substantive disputes with the mayor as the effect of poor marketing on his part. It's exactly this insular worldview that has gotten the mayor in hot... More...
