Acme Miniature Flea Circus @ Intuit

Chicagoans get their first chance to witness trained insects in action as the Acme Flea Circus makes its Chicago premiere this weekend at Intuit, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. Tonight's performance is at 6:30pm. Admission is $12, $10 for students, seniors, and members, and $8 for children under 12. Free Midnight Dance Jam @ Hubbard Street Dance

Beginning at midnight, Hubbard Street Dance Center teaching artist Dionna PridGeon will lead a Midnight Dance Jam, a free jazz funk class incorporating elements of jazz and hip hop. The two-hour-long Midnight Dance Jam is free and open to all proficiency levels.

Frederick Wiseman @ DePaul

Legendary documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman gives a free (!) lecture tonight at Schmitt Academic Center (2320 N. Kenmore) on the DePaul campus. These Are Powers @ Hideout

The sometimes-Brooklyn/sometimes-Chicago based trio These Are Powers arrive in town tonight to play a headlining set at the Hideout. They're currently on tour to support the release of their new All Aboard Future EP. Tonight's show marks the EP's official release party. Local favorites Bird Names open. A bonus dance party is scheduled to follow, featuring Gatekeeper and (Mahjongg-affiliated) DJs Hunter Hussar and Alex Valentine. The show starts at 10pm, and tickets are $10. 1354 West Wabansia.
