Facets Fright School: Nekromantik

Facets Cinematheque presents the latest in their current series of midnight movies, Facets Fright School. Tonight's film is Nekromantik from 1987, a German film about a street sweeper who takes home a corpse to his wife. Trouble naturally ensues. Nekromantik will be presented by Facets video consultant Chris Damen. Facets Fright School starts tonight at midnight. Admission is $5. Yakuo Yokoshi's "Tyler Tyler" @ The Dance Center

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago presents the Chicago debut of Hiroshima-born choreographer Yasuko Yokoshi. Yokoshi's work "Tyler Tyler," offers a contemporary perspective on Kabuki Su-odori dance, a stripped-down form of Kabuki that has been reverred for its purity and simplicity. Chicagoans can take advantage of this rare opportunity to view Kabuki Su-odori through a contemporary lens at 8 pm, at The Dance Center, 1306 S. Michigan Ave. Tickets are $26-30, and may be purchased via The Dance Center website.

Nerd-O-Ween 2.0

The Chicago Nerds Social Club present their second annual Nerd-O-Ween celebration tonight at Flounders Bar & Grill (2201 N. Clybourn) starting at 8pm. Dressing in costume is encouraged, and prizes will be given out for the best, silliest, most accurate, nerdiest and most original costumes. Horror Plays @ Prop Theatre

Cock & Bull Theatre presents the final weekend of splatter fest Axe Lizzie & The Possession of Alice Von Truskin, written and directed by Chris Garcia Peak. Performances are for ages 18 and over only, and take place at Prop Theatre, 3502 N Elston, 8 pm. Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba @ Auditorium Theatre

Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba lights up Roosevelt University's Auditorium Theatre with flamenco, ballet and contemporary dance set to Spanish and Afro-Cuban rhythms. The company, made up of eighteen female dancers, celebrates the uniqueness of Cuban culture in this lively engagement. The performance takes place at 8 pm at Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Pkwy. Digital Excellence Conference @ DePaul

Chicago's 1st Neighborhood Digital Excellence Conference & Technology Fair will take place from 8AM to 5PM at DePaul University's Egan Urban Center (1 East Jackson Boulevard, BASEMENT).
