US Air Guitar Chicago Regionals Come to the Metro June 29
The US Air Guitar train is revving back up with the announcement of this year's regional competitions. The Chicago regional will be held June 29 at the Metro, site of the 2011 National Finals, which saw Chicago's own Nordic Thunder win the title.
Although Nordic Thunder doesn't have to compete, you can bet he'll be present for the regional competition. And no doubt we'll see plenty of last year's competitors vying for the chance to unseat him -- not least his own protégé, Dry Ice, who made a strong showing in his debut year last year.
Whoever wins in Chicago will go on to face Nordic Thunder and the other regional finalists at US Air Guitar Championship Finals July in Denver's Bluebird Theater, the winner of which will go on to the Air Guitar World Championships in Oulu, Finland August 24.
Trust me, you want to be present for the action... and be wearing earplugs. A limited number of early bird tickets are on sale on sale now for just $9.99; they'll be $15 when they officially go on sale at noon on May 4.
