Hot for Teacher
The Chicago Teachers Union is calling on a publisher to recall all copies of The Teacher's Strike, an erotica novel about an of-age student hooking up with his teacher during the teachers' strikes in Chicago.
According to the Tucson Weekly, the union does not want to be associated with the "spanking novel" (the title comes full circle during a sexy spanking scene).
It's a change from past battles in which the progressive organization spoke out against banning books (previously), but the logo stitched on to the twenty-something teacher's shirt on the cover does look suspiciously like the CTU's.
The author, a local educator who uses an alias, told the Tucson Weekly they thought the union would see the work as a piece of political satire and laugh it off.
