Food Film Fest Takes the Screen this Weekend
Food is ready for their close-up this weekend at the Food Film Festival, which will be held at Kendall College (900 North Branch) and offers a nice range of events, starting with a wine and sustainable food dinner Thursday night and followed by a Milwaukee-style Fish Fry on Friday, an avocado-laden competition and tasting Saturday, followed by an awards ceremony and an evening of whisky-centric film and Scottish grub.
Each food is carefully paired with a corresponding film--I'm especially looking forward to the Friday night offerings: Ron Faiola's Fish Fry Night Milwaukee, followed by shorts about Mississippi-based Mickle's Pickles, and Perogy! from Canadian filmmaker Tammy Marlowe Johnson. The evening ends with sweet potato cobbler from Hoosier Mama. Magical, am I right?
Individual event tickets are available ($45-85 range), but your $250 VIP Pass gets you all the fixins.
