International Women's Day Conference
The impact of US militarism on women in the US and around the world is the subject at
this year's International Women's Day conference, featuring speakers, testimonials, discussion groups and breakfast -- a grand ol' time for a $5 donation. At UNITE, 333 S. Ashland, 9:30-4 pm. Iron Chef Competition
Three audience members will be randomly chosen to participate in an Iron Chef Competition taday at the new Culinary Studio on the 7th Floor of the State Street
Marshall Field's. Executive Chef Tim Scott will lead a panel of judges. The competition for this free event begins at 11am, and the winner receives free enrollment in cooking classes at the Studio plus a one-on-one session with one of the chefs at Field's.
New Black Record Release Show
Chicago's own
New Black celebrate the release of their debut for
Thick Records on Saturday, March 6 at the
Fireside Bowl, 2648 W. Fullerton. They will be joined by Coachwhips (feat. a member of Pink and Brown), Call Me Lightning and Russian. Doors open at 8pm, all ages.
