Uses of Art in Renaissance Italy
A new exhibit at the
David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art, titled "The Uses of Art in Renaissance Italy", opens tonight at 5:30pm. The exhibition, which runs through August 22, considers the daily life of various Renaissance objects within their historical context, calling attention "to the rich interplay of form and function in early modern material culture." The Smart Museum is located on the University of Chicago campus at 5550 S. Greenwood Avenue. Admission to the museum is free. Visit the
