Poi Dog Pondering @ Durty Nellie's

The Poi Dog Pondering 'musical collective' will be performing at Durty Nellie's in Palatine, IL tonight in support of their latest album, In Seed Comes Fruit. Poi Dog was formed in 1986 in Hawaii by Frank Orrall, but the band has been based in Chicago since 1992. Tickets for the ahow are $20 and doors open at 8pm. Irish-American Idol "Kerryoke"

It all takes place at the Fitzpatrick Chicago Hotel, 166 E. Superior: Singers of various levels of expertise will attempt to best each other in singing "Danny Boy" or some other Irish tune. The winner gets a week's trip for two to Ireland. The preliminary round begins tonight at 9pm, with another round and the finals scheduled from 3-8pm on Saturday. It's free.
