Fence Books' Sponsored Reading at Danny's

Special reading by emerging young writers sponsored by New York City independent press Fence Books featuring: Michael Earl Craig, Rosemary Griggs, Chelsey Minnis, and Rebecca Wolff at Danny's Tavern located at 1951 W. New Music @ Cultural Center

Multi-national trio of Swedish pianist Sten Sandell and Chicago-based musicians Fred Lonberg-Holm (cello) and Michael Zerang (percussion) performs Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. in the Claudia Cassidy Theater at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St. The concert is presented as part of the New Millennium/New Music series that showcases new and improvised music.

Laura Letinsky Photo Exhibit

at the University of Chicago presents Laura Letinsky: Hardly More Than Ever Photographs, 1997-2004. The exhibition captures "domestic arrangements" from couples to formal still-lifes of abandoned tables with half-finished meals. A contingent of webloggers -- mostly of the "knowledge blog" subset -- will be meeting tonight at Ben Pao, Hubbard and State, for dinner at 7:15. The Shifted Librarian has the list of attendees, but you need to RSVP to Rick Klau if you're planning on attending.

Chicago Authors + Bumpus @ Metro

As part of the Story Week Festival sponsored by Columbia College Chicago, Chicago authors Elizabeth Crane, Aleksandar Hemon, and Shawn Shiflett will be reading from their respective works tonight at Metro. Local band Bumpus will also be performing as part of the event. This event is open to the public and starts at 6pm. The Metro is located at 3730 N. Clark.
