How What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? Happened
The always interesting
Theatre Building Chicago presents what may possibly be the ultimate queer theater experience, "How What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? Happened". Find out the whole sordid story about how two drag icons (played on the stage, of course, by
men) were roped together to create one of the great camp classics. Not only is there
a Website with more information about the show, but there's also
a Weblog by playwright David Cerda, and even
a coloring contest, in which the winners will win their very own Baby Jane Hudson doll! The play opens tonight tonight, and runs through June 26. Showtimes: Thursdays-Saturdays at 8:30 PM, Sundays at 5:00 PM. Theatre Building Chicago: 1225 W. Belmont, near the corner of Belmont and Racine. Tickets: (773) 327-5252 or through
Ticketmaster.

Amy Goodman
Amy Goodman, the author of
Exception to the Rulers will be in town today at Border's Books & Music (150 N. State St.). Her book examines the relationship between big media and foreign policy. Think it's weird that she'd be at a chain store? So do the owners of
Women & Children First. Their people are talking to her people and something may get worked out for an additional appearance at their store in June. Stay tuned!

Can Ky Ree @ The Hideout
The Hideout presents
Can Ky Ree tonight from 6–9 p.m. Can Ky Ree's songs are somewhere between an Appalachian ballad and a honkey tonk brawl, with a bit o' the new stuff mixed in. This Chicago group played background-style at the California Clipper before jumping into the studio recently to record some tunes. Tonight's lineup includes Tom Musick on guitar and vocals, Ryan Hembrey on piano, Steve Dorocke on mandolin and mandola, and Andy Rader on upright bass. The Hideout is located at 1354 W. Wabansia.
