30 Bands in 60 Minutes @ Metro

Time once again for the annual exciting musical event, 30 Bands in 60 Minutes, sponsored by the Neo-Futurists. Live theater meets live music, as the Neo-Futurists once again attempt to have 30 separate musical acts perform on the Metro stage in the space of one hour. An almost impossible feat, but they sure do have fun trying. The all-ages show starts at 7:30 (doors open at 7:00). Check it out! Metro: 3730 N. Clark. (773) 549-4140. Tickets available through Ticketmaster, or on sale at the Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland, before their regular shows.

Book reading: NPR's Bob Edwards

NPR's "Morning Edition" host Bob Edwards will be appearing tonight at the Chicago Temple at 7:00, reading from his new book "Edward R. Murrow and the Birth of Broadcast Journalism". Recently Edwards was removed from his "Morning Edition" hosting position, so the appearance should be very interesting. Chicago Temple: 77 W. Washington. See the link for tickets and further info.

Among the myriad styles of art on display: photography, puppetry, pop, painting, product design, poetry, papermaking ... and dozens of others. All events are free and open to the public.
