Spanning six blocks, between Belmont and Sheridan, Northalsted Market Days is the largest two-day street fair in the Midwest and features everything from music to food to arts and crafts. Come hear live music and shop amongst the unique items sold by vendors from around the country while smelling the grilling meats and veggies. It's a great time to be a Lakeview resident! 11am-10pm.
If you've ever been frustrated by small gardening spaces or community gardening spaces, the Lincoln Square Garden Walk and Green Fair will provide new ideas to the common frustration. The event hopes to encourage area gardeners to create more creative spaces to add to all residents' enjoyment of the greens. Local gardeners will invite attendees into their yards, plants will be available for swapping and local business will be there to help attendees find places to shop for gardening-related supplies. A $5 donation grants entry; all proceeds go to the Greening of Ravenswood. The tour, which is self-paced, runs from 9am-6pm, starting between the Damen and Western El stops on the Brown Line. Mint, a new boutique in Lincoln Park, is hosting its Grand Opening reception today from 7-10pm, 1450 Webster Ave. The boutique specializes in hand-made items from local artists, offering everything from jewelry, bags, pottery and body care products. This reception coincides with Soiree at Studio 9. Food, dancing and poetry readings will all be part of the evening, as well as a special 20% discount on all Sassy Design handbags. Rounding out a week of support for and information about breastfeeding, today's event serves as a celebration for men, women, children and families put together by the Chicago Region Breastfeeding Taskforce. From 10am-2pm, all can enjoy food, raffles, games, clowns and face painting all while learning more about the benefits of breastfeeding from local health representatives. The Anti-Cruelty Society is pleased to offer your dirty dirty dog some help at their Dog Wash today from 10am-2pm. All dirty dogs are encouraged to stop in for a bubbly bath at their annual Dog Wash where staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide a cool cleansing for your pup. Fees range from $10-25 and are based on weight. Some fun prizes will be awarded for the dirtiest, the smallest and the funniest looking doggies.
