American Indian Center 52nd Annual Powwow

The American Indian Center of Chicago is holding their 52nd Annual Powwow at the UIC Pavilion, 1150 W. Harrison St. There will be 500 dancers from across the country as well as a dance competition, traditional Native American music and over 60 Native American art vendors offering their wares. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, with a weekend pass costing $18. Tickets are available at the UIC Pavilion Box Office and at the door. Flower 15 Venus/Chord Party

EarthSave Chicago Potluck

Holiday eatin' can be great, but you have to admit, it's kind of geared towards the meat eaters. EarthSave Chicago is an organization that promotes a shift toward diets that are healthier for both people and animals and they're giving lessons on how to make a vegan Thanksgiving. Chicago Diner Chef Jo Kaucher will demonstrate with a menu of roasted veggie turkey, stuffing and gravy, cranberry relish and raw soup. The potluck goes on at 6:30pm at Resurrection Lutheran School, RAP Classroom, 1050 W. Minutemen doc @ Film Center

We Jam Econo: The Story of The Minutemen returns to the Siskel Film Center this week, and if you missed the documentary when it played earlier this year, now's your chance to see the story of The Minutemen, one of the most amazing punk bands of the early 1980s. Lots of performance footage during the band's short career, and interviews with the surviving members. Great stuff. The film screens this evening at 5:00 PM, and again on Thursday the 17th at 8:00 PM. Tickets: $9, $7 for students, $5 for Film Center members, and $4 for SAIC students. Film Center: 164 N. State. Phalanx Network Intro Party

The Phalanx Artist Network, a new organization hoping to energize Chicago's arts and entertainment scene, is throwing an introductory party at Smartbar, 3730 N. Clark St., tonight from 8pm to 10pm. Robot Contest @ MSI
