Chicago Human Rhythm Project
The Museum of Contemporary Art, at 220 E. Chicago Ave., is hosting the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. With more than just individual artists, the project is showcasing a number of international tap repertory companies while celebrating fifteen years of traditional and new rhythm dance. This performance features Brazil's Vata Tap and Los Angeles's Jason Samuels Smith of ACGI. Tickets are $25 general admission, $22 for students and MCA members, and can be bought by calling 312-397-4010. The performances will go on Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 8:30pm and Sunday at 3pm.

Go Veggie is hosting a turkey-less Thanksgiving dinner at Garden Manor Banquets, 4720 W. The first club opening of its kind in more than 25 years, the legendary Checkerboard Lounge officially re-opens in Hyde Park’s bustling Harper Court at 5201 S. Harper Court on Friday, November 18, 2005 as the New Checkerboard Lounge for Blues ‘N’ Jazz. An impressive cast of Chicago blues and jazz performers will perform at the new club during a weekend-long grand re-opening celebration starting Friday, November 18 through Sunday, November 20, 2005.
