Literary Gangs of Chicago @ MCA

Weep and chicagolit.org have organized a monthly program of literary performances at the Museum of Contemporary Art, to attain “a symbiotic accord among the divisive literary factions of the city.” Tonight, Funny HaHa performs at 6:30 PM. 220 E. Chicago Ave. For more information, visit the website.

Do-it-yourself Messiah @ Civic Opera House

The "do-it-yourself Messiah", which is a performance of Handel's Messiah with the audience performing the choral parts, happens tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00 PM at the Civic Opera House (20 North Wacker Drive). See the Lasalle Bank Website for full information and to purchase tickets.

Deep Blue Organ Trio @ Green Mill

If you've heard jazz in the last half-century, it's likely you've heard the Hammond Organ lighting up the background. This masterful sound is one of my favorites for its smooth grooves. Head out to the Green Mill tonight, for their Tuesday night Hammond master, the Deep Blue Organ Trio. Cover is only $6 and music lasts from 9pm-1am. The Green Mill is hard to miss at Broadway and Lawrence.
