Chocolate Eating World Championship
Today, bunnies are cowering in fear (well, chocolate bunnies anyway). The Onion and the International Federation Of Competitive Eating present the Chocolate Eating World Championship at the Chicago Chocolate Company. Billed as the GoldenPalace.net Valentine's Day Chocolate Massacre, this event will pay the winner a cool $5,000 (and, you know, a belly full of heart-shaped chocolates). The Chicago Chocolate Company is located at 847 W. Randolph St. and the contest starts at 11a.m.
Mice Parade @ Empty Bottle (FREE)
I checked out the post-rock/electronic group Mice Parade at the Bottle about 6 months ago and was definitely not dissapointed. The fact that they're coming back to town, and the bottle, is enough to get me there. The additional fact that the show is free is enough to get me there on a Monday night at 10pm. Del Rey opens.
Gapers Block Book Club Meeting
This month's meeting of the Gapers Block Book Club takes place tonight at The Book Cellar at 4736 N. Lincoln Ave., where we will be discussing Division Street: America by Studs Terkel.
