And Now For Something Completely Different @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a screening of four essential Monty Python films during the month of July. Tonight's film is And Now For Something Completely Different, the cinematic version of a number of classic Python sketches from their TV series. Drinking & Writing III @ Edgewater Lounge

Neo-Futurist alums Steve Mosqueda, Sean Benjamin and Diana Slickman present the latest iteration of the long-running play Drinking and Writing, a meditation on how writing helps your drinking, and vice versa. This evening's performance is the final one in the play's current run; check the Drinking and Writing Website for a complete schedule and to purchase tickets. This evening's performance happens at the Edgewater Lounge (5600 N. Ashland) at 7:00 PM.

Helpin' the Delta

The Town Hall Pub at 3340 N. Halsted holds "Helpin' the Delta" at 8pm tonight. The show features performances by The Central Standard Jug Time Band and Your Little Ponies as well as the work of local singer/songwriter Dave Lykins. There will be complimentary food, drink specials and raffles of goods and services donated by local businesses. Even if the $10 you spend on this show's admission didn't go straight to the Red Cross to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina, you'd probably still have a good time. International Festival Of Life

The 14th annual African/Carribean International Festival of Life, a celebration of cuisine and music from all over the world, is underway in Washington Park, at the corner of 55th Street and Cottage Grove. 10 AM to 10 PM; $10 for adults, $5 for children. Today's concerts include Leon and the Peoples Band and Tito Jackson (yes; that Tito Jackson).

ArtLeague Kickball Tournament

Join ThreeWalls, StopSmiling Magazine and Bad at Sports today from noon till 5pm at the Wicker Park kickball field for the ArtLeague Kickball Tournament. Four teams (The Mullets, the West Town Banditos, Record Players and the West Loop Flyers) will compete for the championship trophy. Bookies and mascots are encouraged! Original celebrity player cards with photos and stats will be for sale. Bad at Sports Podcast hosts will present a play by play commentary. ArtLeague Kickball will be umpired by Stop Smiling Magazine. Players will don uniforms provided by American Apparel. The games will be followed by an after-party and awards ceremony at Smoke Daddy, 1804 W. Division, at 6:30ish.
