Holiday edition of Too Much Light @ Neo-Futurarium
Celebrate the nation's independence with a special Fourth of July edition of that long-running Chicago theater show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. Expect 30 patriotic plays to be performed (or not) in the space of 60 minutes, and a dance party immediately following the show. The festivities begin at 8:00 PM, so don't be late: the birthday of the nation hangs in the balance!!! Tickets are $20, can be purchased online, and come in two flavors: "American" and "heathen". International Festival Of Life
The 14th annual African/Carribean International Festival of Life, a celebration of cuisine and music from all over the world, is underway in Washington Park, at the corner of 55th Street and Cottage Grove. 10 AM to 10 PM; $10 for adults, $5 for children. Today's concerts include Barrington Levy and Regina Bell.
Rush Hour Concert @ St. James Cathedral
Professional musicians who play with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and other ensembles perform at this series of free, 30-minute chamber music concerts.
