Celebrate the nation's independence with a special Fourth of July edition of that long-running Chicago theater show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. Expect 30 patriotic plays to be performed (or not) in the space of 60 minutes, and a dance party immediately following the show. The festivities begin at 8:00 PM, so don't be late: the birthday of the nation hangs in the balance!!! Tickets are $20, can be purchased online, and come in two flavors: "American" and "heathen". The 14th annual African/Carribean International Festival of Life, a celebration of cuisine and music from all over the world, is underway in Washington Park, at the corner of 55th Street and Cottage Grove. 10 AM to 10 PM; $10 for adults, $5 for children. Today's concerts include Barrington Levy and Regina Bell.
Professional musicians who play with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and other ensembles perform at this series of free, 30-minute chamber music concerts.
