How is it that 40% of the youth living on the streets of Chicago are youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning? (View the source of this statistic). About Face Youth Theatre Ensemble tackles this question by bringing the stories of homeless youth to the stage. The Home Project premieres this afternoon at 2:30pm and runs July 6-30 at Victory Gardens Upstairs Mainstage (2257 N. Lincoln Ave). Tickets are $10-$40. For more information call 773-784-8565 or visit the website. To learn more about issues faced by homeless youth in Chicago visit the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and The Night Ministry. To learn more about resources that are available for LGBTQ youth in Chicago visit Howard Brown's Broadway Youth Center.
