Theater on the Lake: Crumble

The Chicago Park District's Theater on the Lake series of plays continues this evening. Each week a new play will be offered at the Theater on the Lake stage at 2401 N. Lake Shore Drive. This week's play is Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake) by the Dog & Pony Theatre Company. This play will be performed Wednesday, July 12 through Sunday, July 16. Showtime is 7:30 PM (6:30 PM on Sunday evenings). Tickets are $17.50 and can be purchased by calling the box office at (312) 742-7994. The Theater on the Lake series runs through August 13.

The Girl Can't Help It @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a month-long tribute to film director Frank Tashlin. Tonight they are screening the 1956 Jayne Mansfield classic The Girl Can't Help It, which also features a bunch of rock'n'roll acts from the time (Little Richard, The Platters, Fats Domino, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran).
