Dating for Nerds

Have you found that all that Linux talk leaves the hotties with glazed over eyes and vacant facial expressions? If that's the case, Dating for Nerds may be for you. Come to Guthries, 1300 W. Addison, at 7pm to find a girl or guy with that special code for you. $10 registration fee. Call 312-351-3285 for more information.

Outdoor Film Festival: Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Did anyone really ever have this much fun cutting school? Seriously? Tonight at 7:59 PM. Free. You can leave your bike with the bike valet at Lake Shore and Monroe, also free. Leave your dogs and booze at home. For more information, visit the website or call 312-744-3315.

Tuesdays on the Terrace @ MCA

Kick back at the Museum of Contemporary Art after work. Check out the farmer's market out front (it closes by 6 PM), wander through the exhibits (MCA admission is free Tuesdays), and conclude your evening lounging on the terrace, listening to jazz (the concert starts at 5:30 PM) and enjoying one of the best views in Chicago. For more information, call MCA at 312-280-2660 or visit the website.

Frequency @ Empty Bottle

Where else can you see and hear jazz played on flute and a plastic bag except in Chicago? Local "jazz luminaries" Frequency will get down tonight at the Bottle starting at 9:30pm for just $8. The lineup will include Harrison Bankhead on bass, Nicole Mitchell on flute, Avreeayl Ra on percussion and Ed Wilkerson on reeds, although they all have such a range of instruments in their bag, this is really just a starting lineup of sounds.

Rush Hour Concert @ St. James Cathedral

Professional musicians who play with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and other ensembles perform at this series of free, 30-minute chamber music concerts. Doors open at 5:15 PM, with refreshments. Tonight's music, Brahms Liebslieder Waltzes, starts at 5:45 PM. 65 E Huron. For more information, visit the website.
