Sycamore Smith @ Phyllis' Musical Inn
Sycamore Smith, who played the Gapers Block Third Anniversary Party at the Hideout back in June, returns to Chicago for a show at Phyllis' Musical Inn, 1800 W. Division St., at 8pm tonight. No word on cover, but it's not likely to be much. Check it out!
Chicago Jazz Festival @ Grant Park

Frequency @ Hot House
If you missed local "it" jazz group Frequency at the Empty Bottle on Tuesday, and their set at 2pm on Friday as a part of the Chicago Jazz Festival, then tonight's show at the Hot House is your last chance (for a while) to see the quartet in town. Frequency will get down tonight at Hot House starting at 10pm for just $10 (advance) $12 (door).
