Porno Zombies @ Prop Thtr

PROP THTR presents Porno Zombies , a play about...hot zombies...as a part of the annual Rhinoceros Theater Festival. Tickets for this evening's 9:30pm performance are $15 or pay what you can. Edward Gorey Halloween Benefit

Come get a sneak preview of Blindfaith Theatre's "Gorey Stories," a show that brings Edward Gorey's drawings to life. At this special Halloween benefit there will be live performances, drinks, hors d'oeurves and a silent auction. Come dressed as yourself or wear your most fabulous costume. Tickets are $35 in advance (you can get them here) and $45 at the door. 7-11pm at Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont. The full "Gorey Stories" show will run November 11 through December 17 at the Viaduct Theater, 3111 N.

Haunting History @ Apollo Theater

On October 29, 30, and 31 the Apollo Theater presents Haunting History, a history, mystery and magic event guided by David Parr. Tickets are available to those 17 and older for $25; 7:30pm. North Halsted Halloween Parade

Get out of the boredom of downtown parades and head to Boystown for an all-out, costumed Halloween festival! The North Halsted Halloween Parade starts at Belmont and Halsted and travels north to Cornelia. Come by at 5:30pm to register if you think your costume's good enough to join in, or just head up around 7pm to watch the festivities take place. Personally, I'll be watching it from my window. Free and open the public.

2001 @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center is running a series of science fiction films through December. This week's film is the 1968 classic 2001: A Space Odyssey in a 35mm widescreen print. The film screens this evening at 6:00, and includes a lecture by SAIC professor Jim Trainor. Tickets: $9, $7 for students, $4 for Film Center members. Film Center: 164 N. State. (312) 846-2600.

Rory Lake's Karaoke Nightmare @ The Note

Dress as someone who loves to sing in front of strangers and you'll fit right in at The Note tonight for hipster karaoke chief Rory Lake's Karaoke Nightmare. The evening will feature KAROAKE KOSTUME KOMBO KONTEST fer KASH PRIZE and performances by Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians and Let's Get Out of This Terrible Sandwich Shop. It starts at 9pm at The Note (1565 N Milwaukee Ave, 773.489.4457) and it's $6.
