SOFA @ Navy Pier
SOFA Chicago -- the Sculptural Objects and Functional Art Expo -- runs Friday through Sunday in the Festival Hall on Navy Pier this weekend. Alien @ Fillm Center
The Gene Siskel Film Center is running a series of science fiction films through the end of the year. This week's film is the 1979 Ridley Scott classic Alien (a new print of the original film, not the recently re-edted version). The film screens tonight at 6:00 PM, and again on Tuesday the 14th at 6:00 PM. Tuesday night's screening will also include a lecture/discussion by SAIC professor Jim Trainor. Hot Chip @ Metro

Chicago Hackathon 2006
The Chicago Perl Mongers and The Perl Foundation present the Chicago Hackathon, a three-day weekend of round-the-clock Perl-related events. Perl programmers can get help on their own projects, help other programmers out, and meet with a number of programmers from the Chicago area and elsewhere.
