May or May Not (as Daft Punk) @ Hideout

Local band May or May Not will again take on the role of Daft Punk, as they did at Double Door's Halloween Bash in October, as guests of Life During Wartime's Hideout residency. Expect costumes. The show begins at 9PM and will be followed by a regular LDW set. For more information, visit the Hideout.

Rodrigo y Gabriela @ Hideout

Mexican guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela, who earlier this year wowed the crowd at Old Town School, will be playing a free show at the Hideout at 7:30. While adamant about their music not being flamenco, their quick-paced rhythmic sound is most certainly influenced by traditional Latin music and a little by heavy metal. (They were, by the way, in a metal band before becoming a duo.) Their metal roots still come out in their live shows - most notably when dropping a Metallica riff into a bridge. For more information, visit the Hideout.
