Taste of the Nation

Taste of the Nation, a benefit for Share Our Strength, an anti-hunger and anti-poverty non-profit, will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the River East Art Center. All of the ticket sale proceeds go to local food charities, such as the Greater Chicago Food Depository. For $100, you can rub elbows with your fellow philanthropists while sampling food and wine from a plethora of local chefs.

Summer Berry Dinner @ May Street Market

Seedling Farms and Slow Food Chicago will present a dinner at May Street Market with a theme: summer berries. Dishes include a summer salad with blackberry olive vinaigrette, a "cumin scented pan-seared pacific halibit with lumb crab potato and smoked rasberry emulsion" (yum!), and a "red wine shallot glazed duck breast with strawberry risotto." Vegetarian options are available as well.

The event will take place Monday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. at May Street Market. The $54 ticket includes wine, tax and gratuity.
