MC Chris @ Metro

If you watch Adult Swim on Cartoon Network in any permutation, particularly Aqua Teen Hunger Force, you know MC Chris. A self-proclaimed "nerd rapper", he appears at the Metro with Pinback. If you were a fan, you'd know all this already. $15 advance, $17 at the door. Doors at 8, show at 9.

The Chicago History Museum is screening a 90-minute documentary about the iconic revolutionaries today at 1:30 PM (free with museum admission). Bucktown Apple Pie Contest

The Bucktown Apple Pie Contest at Holstein Park Fieldhouse (2200 North Oakley, 2:00-5:00 p.m.) will feature 75 contestants competing for the top honor. Pies (and other foods) will be available for the selling and the tasting, along with games for the kids, a silent auction, and a $1,000 cash raffle (which could buy a lot of All-Clad, my friend). The event benefits the Friends of Holstein Park.

Myopic Poetry Series

Learn to Roast a Pig

For $65, you can learn from Red Light's Executive Chef, Jackie Shen, and ABC 7's Steve Dolinsky (see, it's ironic, because he's Jewish) how to roast a pig. Chef Shen will also demonstrate some pork recipes from her upcoming cookbook.
