It's the 20th anniversary of Clive Barker's film Hellraiser, and Mr. Barker will be in attendance at the Music Box Theatre tonight for a midnight screening of the film. Tickets for this event can be purchased in advance through Ticketweb. Music Box Theatre: 3733 N. Southport. (773) 871-6604.
It's worth the trip down to Tinley Park to Krush Skate Park just to hear the music they have lined up for Midwest Skatefest. Extremly hyped Cool Kids, Yea Big & Kid Static, Eyedea & Abilities, Intel and many more perform during skate demonstrations, gear displays and free giveaways. The Revelettes are holding open auditions to join their go-go revolution from 12:30-2 pm, at The Galaxie, 2603 W. Barry. The Revelettes perform 1960s-inspired go-go to beats from the past four decades at such venues as The Darkroom, Betty's Blue Star Lounge, and The Double Door. While some dance or dance related experience is recommended, candidates need not have extensive dance performance histories. The Cajun French Music Association (CFMA) holds its (likely to be) monthly dance with traditional back-porch style music by Charlie Terr, Will and Holly Whedbee and Stewart Gehring. 8-11 p.m. Dance lesson when the band takes a break, and bake sale. 5801 W. Stuhmer’s newest installation includes a 12-foot panoramic painting depicting the famous dream sequence from the Cold War classic film, The Manchurian Candidate. Also on view is a series of portraits of the American character actor, Henry Silva, one of the stars of the movie. These paintings have been created as a loving tribute to the many minority characters Silva portrayed throughout his career. On display until April 6. 78 E.
