International Food Festival @ University of Chicago

The International Food Festival (IFF) is hosted by the Asian Students Union and features free food from around the world made by various student groups and Hyde Park restaurants. There will also be performances by student dance and choir groups. This event runs from 6 to 10pm in Ida Noyes Hall on the U of C campus. See the website for more information.

I'm No Angel @ Film Center

The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a month-long salute to the comedy stars of the 1930s; specifically, the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields and Mae West. Today's film is one of two Mae West classics from 1933: I'm No Angel, featuring West as a carnival dancer becoming involved with Cary Grant. The film screens this evening at 6:15 PM, and again on Monday the 28th at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $9, $7 for students, $5 for Film Center members and $4 for SAIC students. Film Center: 164 N. State. 25 Years of Great Chicago Cooking and Drinking @ Chicago History Museum

Join Chicago Tribune Food Editor Carol Haddix and Barbara Glunz from The House of Glunz Wine Shop today from 10am to Noon at the Chicago History Museum to discuss Chicago Cooks (25 Years of Food History, with Menus, Recipes and Tips from Les Dames d’Escoffier Chicago.) She will be joined by Barbara Glunz, who will discuss the changes in the wine and spirits business for the last quarter century. Cost of the lecture program is $5, $3 for students and members and no charge for CHC members; email to RSVP. Windy City Rollers 2008 Season Opener

Back for their fourth year of clever names, charitable donations, and outstanding bodily harm, the Windy City Rollers start their 2008 season tonight at the Chicago Stadium (1909 S. Laramie, Cicero). Doors open at 5pm and seating is first come, first served. Bout starts promptly at 6pm. Season tickets are available here for $90, otherwise cash only at the door.

Chicago Big Apple Dance Workshop @ Galaxie
