The Gene Siskel Film Center presents a month-long salute to the comedy stars of the 1930s; specifically, the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields and Mae West. Today's film is one of two Mae West classics from 1933: I'm No Angel, featuring West as a carnival dancer becoming involved with Cary Grant. The film screens this evening at 8:00 PM. Tonight's program of contemporary music is co-hosted by both CSO composer-in-residence, Mark-Anthony Turnage and Osvaldo Golijov. CSO musicians--led by famed conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and joined by soprano Sidsel Endresen--will perform works by Oliver Knussen, Ralf Wallin and Sidsel Endresen, and Salonen himself (Catch and Release). Preservation Chicago will unveil its annual "Chicago 7" list of endangered historic places in Chicago today from 12:15-12:45pm at the John Buck Lecture Hall in the ground floor of the Santa Fe Building at 224. S. Michigan Ave. This year's list will include an "intriguing twist," so being present at the event may be all the more rewarding. Composer Ernest Dawkins has completed the third composition of his Chicago Trilogy of Tragedy Series in honor of the memory of Emmett Till. The Series documents the history and significant world events that happen in and of Chicagoans. Till's death was one of the catalysts of the civil rights movement and was inspirational in the Rosa Parks case. The premiere features some of the best musicians in Chicago, including Harrison Bankhead, Corey Wilkes, Greg Ward, Aaron Getsug, Norman Palm lll, Justin Dillard, Kevin Nabors, Josh Abrams, Isaiah Spencer, and disco poet Khari B., with special guest vocalist Dee Alexander. 1 p.m. 67 East Cermak Rd.
