Rampfest 2008
Support The Land Connection while chowing down on dishes made of ramps (aka wild leek), the wonderful onion-like green, at this year's RampFest. Rampophilic dishes from restaurants such as Blackbird, Vie and Lula Cafe will be served. Tickets are $75-120; event starts at 7pm at Prairie Production, 1314 W. Randolph Street.
GB Get-Together
It's that time again: time for another GB Get-Together! Join members of the Gapers Block staff for drinks and maybe some boardgames. We'll be in the back room at Black Rock, 3614 N. Damen, from 9pm till midnight-ish.
"Show Me Marwen"
Marwen, an art education non-profit, is holding an open house showcasing student and alumni artwork and giving a behind-the-scenes look at Marwen's six professional quality studios. On display will be a graphic novel about the program created by a high school student member. Stop in at 833 N. Orleans between 5pm and 7pm. Free.
Sari Gueron Trunk Show @ Jake

Fleurotica @ The Garfield Conservatory
Looking for a breath of spring in a decidedly icky week? The Garfield Park Conservatory (300 N Central Park Ave) will host Fleurotica, a floral fashion show this Friday from 7pm until 10pm. Students from the Millinery Department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago will show off their botanical creations to celebrate the conservatory’s 100th anniversary. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $150 for runway seating. Reservations are required and can be placed at 773-638-1766, extension 13.
National Jet Set, Church Key, DJ Bob Jones play benefit @ Cobra Lounge
As a part of a weekend of rock and tattoos to benefit the Anti-Cruelty Society and celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Insight Studios (a lil tattoo parlor in town) you can catch some sweet tunes and help out the animals at the same time. For those who like to rock, on Friday, March 28th, National Jet Set and Church Key are set to perform at the Cobra Lounge, along with a DJ set by Bob Jones. Music starts at 10pm and a percentage of the bar's profits from that night will be donated to the Anti-Cruelty Society. Corpo Dance @ Ruth Page Center
Corpo Dance Company employs a "blend of urban, technical, and athletic movement styles." Like listening to a single then flipping the record to the b-side, Corpo's show b-sides will feature original choreography by Christopher M. McCray (set to Bjork, Amon Tobin, Radiohead) in Act I, then flip to "remixed" versions of those dances by several other area choreographers in Act II. A local radio DJ announces each piece as if on a live radio broadcast.
