Half Acre Cycling Benefit @ Black Rock
Half Acre Cycling (co-sponsored by Gapers Block) is having a fundraiser at Black Rock Bar, 3614 N. Damen, today from 3:30pm to 7pm. There will be a raffle, good beer, a recap of the 2008 running of the Paris-Roubaix road race. Join in
Chicago Gems tryouts @ Bedford Park
The Chicago Gems will hold the final tryout for their all-women's baseball league today, 9-11 a.m. at the BASH Sports Academy, 2617 W. Fletcher. Following the tryouts, players will be drafted by one of four teams in the Gems league (Comets, Riveters, Skyline, Turtle Rocks). Registration fee is $25 and players are asked arrive by 8:45 a.m. and bring their own fielder's mitt, as well as batting gloves, helmets, etc. if possible. The season begins on June 1 and games will be held in Beford Park on Saturdays and Sundays. Contact The Chicago Gems for more info.

Rock and Ride Earth Day Benefit Concert @ Double Door
All proceeds go to the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, which helps communities reduce their carbon footprints by increasing safety, creating a world-class bike-way network, encouraging physical activity through bicycling and building a movement around walking and bicycling. Featuring Brian Mazzaferri, Breaker’s Broken, The Johns and Packy Lundholm -- a vibrant and varied show.
