GB Get-Together

It's that time again: time for another GB Get-Together! Join members of the Gapers Block staff for drinks and maybe some boardgames. We'll be in the middle-ish at Black Rock, 3614 N. Damen, from 9pm till midnight-ish.

International Antiques Fair @ the Merchandise Mart

Over one hundred dealers will be at the International Antiques Fair April 25th through the 28th at the Merchandise Mart. Shop for furniture, posters, jewelry, textiles, and other unique pieces on the 8th floor from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for admission to all four days at the event or $20 for one day. Mitch O'Connell show @ Tattoo Factory

Awesome local artist Mitch O'Connell has a show happening tonight and tomorrow at the Tattoo Factory (4443 N. Broadway) to promote his new book Mich O'Connell's Tattos. The artist will be there tonight and tomorrow selling the artwork at the show. The times for both nights are 7:00 PM to midnight, and there will be plenty of excitement and prizes and surprises and all sorts of other things you won't want to miss. Be there!

Uptown Cooking Class @ Inspiration Cafe

As part of the Food & Liquor project, Neighbors Project is partnering with national nonprofit Share Our Strength and Chicago-based nonprofit Inspiration Corporation to host a cooking class for people living in Uptown this Spring. Class participants will learn how to cook healthy, tasty, economical recipes using fresh foods purchased at their local corner stores or liquor stores. Each participating family will get a box containing all of the ingredients that will allow them to cook the meal at home. Immediate Sound @ Hideout

Immediate Sound, the great Wednesday night series at the Hideout curated by local music guru Mitch Cocanig and musician Ken Vandermark celebrates 2 years of successful presenting with a special weekend presentation at the Hideout. Tonight, the NYC based Jewels and Binoculars brings their free jazz interpretations of Bob Dylan tunes to the Hideout and will also play collaborations with local musicians, Mr. Vandermark included. This art space hosts these quarterly arts collectives where you can leisurely browse thru organized tables of everything from handmade purses, plush, clothes and cards. Critical Mass Ride @ Daley Plaza

To a lot of drivers they're a pain in the ... but to cycling enthusiasts they're rebels with a cause. Join Critical Mass as they once again take over a city street. Reggie Watts: Disinformation with Deja Taylor and Teatro Luna @ MCA

Reggie Watts, aka Reginald Lucien Frank Roger Watts, aka the only American with a 10 octave vocal range, will be performing his comedic onslaught Disinformation tonight, as a part of the MCA's four-day exhibition, Hip Hop Live + Reel. Found & Vernacular Photos @ South Shore Arts Center

Found Magazine's Davy Rothbart brings the magazine's collection of found notes, photos and other ephemera to the South Shore Arts Center, 1040 Ridge Rd. in Munster, IN, in connection with the exhibit "Accidental Mysteries: Extraordinary Vernacular Photography from the collection of John and Teenuh Foster." Cloud Cult At Schubas

Cloud Cult is one of those bands that do things big and have a sound to match. Somewhere between Modest Mouse and Nuetral Milk Hotel, the band has shyed from mainstream attention with an indie approach. Known for elaborate stage shows, the band does things their own way. An early show features opener Mason Proper and a late show slates The Forms to get things started.

Chicago Sinfonietta @ National Museum of Mexican Art

Regional Journeys, the final concert in this three-concert series, features Chicago's premiere Mexican folk ensemble Sones de Mexico.
