Jeff Parker @ The Velvet Lounge

Jeff Parker, guitarist extraordinaire of Tortoise fame, continues his Thursday series in May at the legendary Velvet Lounge. Tonight he'll be joined by musical comrades Tim Haldeman, Jake Vinsel, and Nori Tanaka, displaying for all to hear his musically diverse aesthetic. Haldeman is one of the cities best up and coming saxophonists, and drummer Nori Tanaka is here on a brief visit from Japan after being denied a visa to live here last year. Parker is one of Chicago's musical treasures and a chance to see him in the intimate confines of the Velvet Lounge is always a treat. Jeff Parker plays the Velvet Lounge, 67 E. Cermak Rd, at 8:30 PM, cover charge is $10.
