Cleveland City Stars vs. Fire @ Toyota Park

Having won four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and finishing as the runner-up another year, the Fire would seem to be a sure bet in the tournament, which features the top amateur and professional teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. This third-round match-up kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Park, 7000 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview.

Cleveland Indians vs. White Sox @ U.S. Cellular

A battle of AL Central rivals. Game 2 of their three-game series is tonight at 7:11 p.m. at U.S. Cellular, 333 W. 35th St.

Noted journalist Lisa Holewa stops by Women & Children First to dicuss her latest work, What Kindergarten Teachers Know. Taste of Chicago

The Taste of Chicago runs thru 7/6, bringing its sea of gastronomic tidbits to Grant Park once again. This year, plan your route with an interactive map. Admission is free, but food and drink tickets are sold in strips of 12 for $8 at the festival. Get all the lowdown on the music, food, cooking demos, and family activities online.

Fred Anderson @ MCA

The fantastic Tuesdays on the Terrace series at the Museum of Contemporary Art continues today with local legend and Velvet Lounge proprietor Fred Anderson. His unique aesthetic and gargantuan tone has made him a world renowned saxophonist for decades, while his humble personality and buoyant spirit have remained grounded as a local musician and venue owner. Come hear why he's still in demand all over Europe and the world as a performer, have a few drinks, and enjoy the beautiful ambiance of the MCA Terrace tonight.
