Gapers Block Book Club Meeting
This month's meeting of the Gapers Block Book Club takes place tonight at The Book Cellar at 4736-8 N. Lincoln Ave., where we will be discussing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Taste of the Nation @ Trump Tower
David Burke of Primehouse will team up with 20 Chicago chefs (including "Top Chef: Chicago" winner Stephanie Izard and "Top Chef: Miami" competitor Dale Levitsky) to create a wide variety of dishes to sample at this benefit for Share our Strength. Master Sommelier Serafin Alvarado and a select group of Chicago mixologists will present a tasting of wines and "Classic Cocktails from Around the World." This event will take place at 6 pm at Trump International Hotel & Towers at 401 North Wabash.The cost is $150, and proceeds will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, the Illinois Hunger Coalition, the Near North Health Service Corporation and Vital Bridges.
