Local musician Jeffrey Roscoe is running in the AIDS MArathon, and he's holding a one-night-only benefit for his entry fee. Cabaret for Life will feature lots of Chicago's cabaret talent, so if names like Amy Cole, Carla Gordon, Paul Marinaro, and Stephen Rader are familiar to you, then you've gotta check this show out. Cabaret for Life happens tonight from 7:00 to 9:00 at 3160 (3160 N. Clark). Admission is a suggested $10 donation at the door.
Slow and thoughtful, kind of like Lake Michigan? Tickets are $12 and the show goes on at 10:00 PM. 21+
The Portage Theater, 4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., plays host to the Fractured Lens Video Festival, featuring videos from independent and amateur filmmakers. Two showings tonight, at 8pm and 10pm. $5 admission.
If you're planning a special occasion soon -- wedding, bar mitzvah, graduation, etc. -- head to Morton's, 65 E. Wacker Pl., today between 4pm and 7pm for their "Open House for All Occasions." Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, wine and Champagne while rubbing elbows with some of the city's premier event planners and vendors. Free, but RSVP is required; contact Jessica Geisinger at 312-201-0464 or jessica_geisinger@mortons.com if you plan to attend.
