She's released a handful of rocking pop albums, appeared in two films, and collaborated with countless other artists. Tonight she brings her soulful songs and deep, crooning voice to SPACE for an unforgettable performance.

Cyclocross @ Jackson Park

The Chicago Cyclocross Cup kicks off at Jackson Park. Racing runs all day long and is extremely spectator friendly. Consider riding down via the lakefront path to cheer on the local favorites and maybe, just maybe, some national pros.

Eli's Cheesecake Festival

Head out to the Eli's Cheesecake Factory (6701 W. Forest Park) for its Cheesecake Festival, benefitting the New Horizon Center for Developmentally Disabled and the Greater Chicago Food Depository! Rides, food, cooking demos, an opportunity to meet the 2008 Michigan Apple Queen, a classic cars exhibit, fun for the kids, and of course, LOADS of cheesecake. Also, if you bring a non-perishable food donation item for the Depository, you'll get a free slice of cheesecake.

Athens Sister City Shuffle 5K

This 5K run will take place on what could be the most unusual course yet: O'Hare's new 9L/27R runway. Proceeds benefit the Chicago-Athens Sister City donation of "The Runners" sculpture, which will be installed in Terminal 5. Pre-registration fee is $30, and you can sign up online.

Tierra Muhammad Opening @ House of Culture

Artist Tierra Muhammad debuts new work at the House of Culture, 618 E. 71st St., with an opening reception at 2pm. Free.

Ratatat, Rhymefest, New Pornographers @ Hideout Block Party

The Hideout's massively successful Block Party enters its 12th year. The line up is huge and the outdoor jam starts early. Tickets are $25 for a Sunday-only Pass or $45 for a 2-Day Pass. Gates open at 12 noon.
