Come to Open Books's third Good Old-Fashioned Wordstorming Write-In to get the words flowing during National Novel Writing Month. A host of notable performers will come to the Steppenwolf Theatre for a tribute to the recently departed Studs Terkel. Included in the cast are David Schwimmer, Rick Kogan, Joyce Piven, Martha Lavey, Alan Wilder and more. Admission to the 7:30pm show are free, but reservations are required. Tonight the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western) showcases of the experimental punk side of things with a concert featuring Bitter Tears, Lovely Little Girls, and the nicely-named Pussy Pirates.
