They may be getting on in years, but Nada Surf is still bringing the rock to The Metro tonight. It's an 18+ show, so be prepared to see all your little sister's friends. Of course, the band has plenty of new material to check out, but obviously the highlight of the show will still be when they play their 1996 hit, "Popular." Sharing the bill will be Delta Spirit and The Jealous Girlfriends. 3730 N Clark St. Tickets are $20, and it all starts at 9pm.
African dance band Occidental Brothers Dance Band International play Schubas tonight. W.W. Loman opens. Get a little more in our Transmission section. 3159 N. Southport. 10:30pm. 21 & up. Tickets are $10.
Clouds, hailing from Boston, MA will be playing at the Empty Bottle just in time for the turkey you ate on Thursday to settle. Their new album We Are Above You is classic punk at its best. If you aren't drenched in sweat, and possibly sporting a nose bleed by the end of the Cloud's set Boris, hailing from Japan will be sure to at least make your ears bleed to finish off the night. The post Pitchfork show completely sold out, so maybe buy your tickets ahead of time? Doors at 10pm, Tickets $15.
