Does dimensional typography have any implications beyond simply being a formal variation on traditional typographic form, and does current work hint at what these implications might be? This opening explores this question through interdisciplinary work in print, video, sculpture, and installation by an international group of artists, designers, and programmers.

The Original Mother's, 26 W. Division St., holds its 9th annual Elvis Fest at 8pm tonight, on what would have been the King's 74th birthday. Emcee Sergio Interial hosts Elvis tribute artists, karaoke and a look-alike contest, while True Oldies DJ Dick Biondi broadcasts live from 7pm to 11pm. There's a free peanut butter and banana buffet, too. Free, but $5 suggested charitable donation. 21+

Local author Joan Corwin comes to Women & Children First to read from her story "Safe Shall Be My Going," which was the novella winner in Press 53's First Annual Open Awards Anthology.
