Who Framed Roger Rabbit? @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre presents midnight screenings of the classic 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit? This instant classic of combined animation and live action definitely needs to be seen on the big screen for maximum effect. It screens tonight and tomorrow night at midnight (sorry, kids). Little Friends of Printmaking @ Threadless Gallery

The Little Friends of Printmaking debut their exhibit "Tough Luck" at Threadless Gallery, 3011 N. Broadway, tonight from 7pm to 9pm. The show will also see the debut of the Milwaukee printmaking duo's Threadless Select t-shirt design. Free.

Co-op Image Group Benefit @ Empty Bottle

The Empty Bottle hosts a benefit for the Co-op Image Group featuring Mucca Pazza, Coltrane Motion, and The Arctic Circle. The show kicks off at 10pm. Tickets are $12.

Nami Mun @ Borders

Award-winning author Nami Mun will be discussing her debut novel, Miles From Nowhere, the startling and brutally honest story of a teenage runaway on the streets of 1980s New York. Christa Donner at ThreeWalls

Multimedia artist Christa Donner shows her latest body of work--exploring fertility, biology, and identity--at ThreeWalls. Re:Production features multiple wall installations, an interview-based zine, a film collaboration with biologist Andrew Yang, and works on paper. Chicago Arts District 2nd Fridays

Every second Friday of the month the more than 100 artists and 35 galleries of the Chicago Arts District (also known as Pilsen East) open their doors to the public to showcase work from Chicago and beyond. Many of the Pilsen neighborhood galleries are artist-owned, so Gallery Night is an excellent opportunity to get information about the works from their source. Nicholas Tremulis Orchestra, Ezra Furman @ SPACE

The Nicholas Tremulis Orchestra, Ezra Furman (of Ezra Furman & The Harpoons) and "a very special surprise guest" play tonight at SPACE in Evanston starting at 8pm. Chicago Slaughter Tryouts @ Megaplex Sports Center

If your New Year's Resolution was to become a professional football player, it may not be so far fetched. The Chicago Slaughter will hold their second free agent camp on Saturday, January 9, noon to 4 p.m., at the Megaplex Sports Complex, 15301 S. Bell Rd., Homer Glen, Illinois. The camp, open to players 18 and older of all skill levels, will be conducted by Slaughter head coach Steve McMichael and the team's coaching staff. There's a camp fee of $50 per person, but players who prepay get a discount on tryout fees. You have to supply your own workout attire and cleats for the session at the indoor facility. The eighth annual Chicago Sketchfest continues tonight and runs through the 18th at the Theatre Building Chicago, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.
