Lost In The Trees @ Reckless Records

Tomorrow Never Knows begins tonight at Schubas and continues through Sunday. TNK is a music festival featuring up-and-coming indie artists. Tonight it's The Soft Pack (formerly The Muslims), The Republic Tigers, Bear Hands, Lost In The Trees, DJ STV SLV of The Hood Internet, and DJ Miles Raymer. Show starts at 9pm. The General Washingtons @ Greenhouse Theater

The General Washingtons, "Chicago's first and only all white, all male comedy group," will be performing Thursdays @ 10:30pm through January 28 at the Greenhouse Theater (2257 N Lincoln Avenue). Tonight they'll be joined by local improv group Old West Family Photo. $6 at the door. $5 with one of their postcards. (Hint: They bear the image of one of our Founding Fathers. I'll let you guess which one.)

Festival @ Cultural Center

As part of a month-long retrospective of the life and work of late Chicago filmmaker Howard Alk, the Chicago Film Archives presents this free screening of a documentary about the Newport Folk Festival.
