ChicagoImprovAnarchy @ Gorilla Tango Theatre

ChicagoImprovAnarchy takes on reality television with their newest production, "Dirty Scoundrels," which tackles an entire season of a fake reality TV show in 45 minutes, complete with maniacal challenges, hazardous alliances and back-stabbing opponents. The show runs tonight and Saturdays in February, 10pm at the Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee. Tickets are $10 and are available at the box office or online. Big Goddess Pow Wow @ Acme Art Works

The Rhinoceros Festival presents the return of Big Goddess Pow Wow, a group of women performers well-known in the Chicago theater and performing community. The evening will be hosted by Annoyance Theater's Susan Messing, co-curated by Paula Killen and Lisa Buscani, and will feature plenty of Pow Wow veterans from years gone by. The show happens tonight at 8pm at Acme Art Works (2215 W. North Avenue); tickets are $20 and can be purchased through the Viaduct Theatre box office at (773) 296-6024.

Lakeview Polar Bear Plunge

The Lakeview Polar Bear Club's annual Polar Plunge takes place today at Oak Street Beach. Show up at 11:30 for the noon jump into Lake Michigan -- or just show up at Galway Bay, 500 W. Diversey, from 9pm to midnight for the organization's fundraising party. $30 gets you all-you-can-drink beer, an LPBC drink coozy and one ticket in the raffle. Chicago's Magnificent Churches Tour

Chicago Neighborhood Tours takes you on a guided tour of the Prairie Avenue Historic District's Second Presbyterian Church. An Arts and Crafts wonder, it's one of Chicago's finest examples of architect Howard van Doren Shaw's work. The tour includes two to three additional churches, synagogues or temples (decided closer to the tour dates). It departs from the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington, at 10am. Circus of Horrors @ Intuit

Intuit: the Center for Outsider and Intuitive Art presents a screening of the 1960 film Circus of Horrors, in conjunction with their current exhibition of drawings by artist Joseph E. Yoakum. Mi Ami @ The Hideout

Featuring ex-members of defunct D.C. art-punk outfit Black Eyes, the Bay-area trio Mi Ami recently signed to Touch & Go affiliate Quarterstick Records. They're presently touring to support their debut album, Watersports, which is due to release later this month. Simple Gallery Benefit @ The Post Family

Local artist Dee Clements, known for her meticulous textile vignettes, will host a benefit at The Post Family tonight to raise funds for her soon-to-be-open Simple Gallery. Art auctions, video displays, and a performance by The Blue Ribbon Glee Club - oh, it's gonna be big. Free admission. 6pm - 10pm. The Post Family is located at 1821 W. Hubbard Street, Suite #202.

Empowering Lupus Patients @ Trinity United Church of Christ

The Lupus Foundation of America, Illinois Chapter, brings together three speakers to help lupus patients get more out of life! Robert Katz, MD, will speak about new lupus research; personal trainer Michael C. Watson will talk about exercise and lupus; and Gapers Block's own Jenni Prokopy will offer tips on overcoming self-defeating behaviors.
