Can't Stop The Music @ Doc Films

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here: Doc Films presents the 1980 camp documentary that is Can't Stop The Music. The "film" stars a rollerskating Steve Guttenberg in short-shorts, an angry Bruce Jenner in short-shorts, Valerie Perrine as the love interest(?) and The Village People as themselves. The film screens tonight at 9pm in the Max Palevsky Cinema in Ida Noyes Hall at The University of Chicago (1212 East 59th Street). Ticket information here.

S-MAC-kdown @ Goose Island

A benefit for the Organic Schools Project, S-MAC-KDOWN will pit professional chef against everyday chef in the battle of who makes the best mac and cheese. For $50 ($75 at the door), guests get apps, drinks, dessert, entertainment, a silent auction, and of course, mac and cheese served up by locals such as Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard, Amalia Obermeier-Smith of Kuma's Corner, and Chris Pandel of The Bristol. Event runs 7-10pm at Goose Island Brewery, 3535 N. Clark.
